TRI-Umph Youth Development Swim Squad

I'm trying to line up a swimming opportunity for you this spring. This is a TENTATIVE SCHEDULE.

TRI-Umph Today offers a program bridging the gap between ICPR’s introductory swim program and competitive swim teams. This program focuses on:
  • improving swim skills and fitness after graduating from the ICPR program
  • Preparing swimmers for one of our area swim teams. (i.e.  one of our local swim clubs, Junior High or High School Teams.
  • Preparing our youth triathletes for the upcoming season.
  • and provide a squad for those using swimming to improve general fitness

TRI-Umph Today provides high quality professional coaching. We will establish a fun and creative team environment building and refining technique, speed, and endurance. Two coaches at many practices to ensure effective, progressive coaching. Our mission is to make you a better swimmer. We will also include:
  • Inter squad competition simulation
  • Possibly - Scrimmage vs North Liberty Non-Competitive Swim Team (for those interested)

Spring Session April 4th - May 27th (8 weeks)

Through repetition and strong coaching we will work to:  
  • Improve and imprint great kicking, rotational breathing and solid free style stroke to ensure each swimmer will pass the deep water test in any pool.
  • Incorporate drills/activities to teach these skills:
    • Proper Streamline
    • ​Circle Swimming
    • Flip Turns
    • Diving
    • Relays
  • For those with strong swimming skills we will incorporate other strokes. This session will include a warm up, main set including skill refinement, and cool down. Our focus will be to make sure they are ready for any of these teams and/or prepare for our scrimmages.  We will work up to 1500-2000 yards. 

Items needed: Swimming cap and goggles 
Cost: Typically $14/session (Dependant on City)
