A master is a competitor who has attained or will attain the age of 21 during the current calendar year, rounded down to the nearest whole number. A competitor’s age is determined as of December 31 of the current calendar year (“rowing age”). o A Masters crew may compete in a lower (younger) age category but not in a higher category. There are 12 age group categories in Masters rowing!! Wow!
